The craft of knitting hooked Kathryn when she was in high school in the 1960s. There were no knitters in her family, so she taught herself from a booklet, using long, aluminum needles, because that’s the way it was done back then. She enjoys many styles of knitting, mostly along traditional lines, but not always specifically Norwegian. Along the way, Kathryn found that she really enjoyed teaching—including teaching knitting. Regardless of the style or tradition you admire, learning the basic skills of knitting is where you start. While she has taught traditional techniques classes, through the years Kathryn’s focus has always been on teaching beginners of many ages, or as she call it, Launching New Knitters.
