Community of Practice: Teaching Teachers in Norway

The Folklife and Education Community of Practice will be joined by Silje Solheim Karlsen who will be discussing her work teaching teachers in Norway and how she uses her work as a literary scholar in that teaching. In addition, Dr. Karlsen will be discussing how she teaches teachers to teach about Indigenous topics and literature, especially if they themselves are not Indigenous.

Silje Solheim Karlsen is a Professor in Nordic Literature at UiT The Arctic University of Norway/Sámi University of Applied Sciences. Her research has in recent years especially focused on sub-Arctic literature, Sámi literature and literature from Sápmi and Nordkalotten.
