Brad Nelson is a silversmith and crafty jack-of-all-trades with a degree in fine art metals from UW-Superior. Nelson draws heavily from his Swedish heritage for inspiration in his art, and is also active with a Viking reenactment community in Sweden. He sells his work through his studio, B. E. Nelson Silversmith. Nelson is featured in Sallie Anna Steiner’s book chapter, “‘A Growing Art’: Traditional Arts and Heritage Rediscovery in Northern Minnesota Scandinavian Communities,” in Culture Work: Folklore for the Public Good published by University of Wisconsin Press in 2022.
