Alana Maijala is a Virginia, MN, native who practices a number of different fiber crafts, many of them inspired by her Finnish background. She engages with crafts as varied as beading, crocheting, weaving, and felting. She has particularly done a lot of work with himmeli, as featured in our Traveling Traditions: Nordic Folk Arts in the Upper Midwest exhibit.
